I grew up in a small town in central Iowa. From a young age, my understanding of the world outside of home was very limited. Photographing various walks of life, from Iowa to Michigan to Montana and back, is how I make a visual imprint on the world. Learning of the commonality between folks, what unites and what divides, is why I continue to work as a visual journalist. We live in an increasingly polarized society and I believe photography allows for an open dialogue about that which we don’t understand.

In May 2018, I graduated from the University of Iowa with a B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication and a Certificate of Sustainability.

Currently I work as a staff photographer at the Missoulian newspaper and am available for freelance work in the area.

Part 107 certified.
